Turndown Service with Taiece Lanier

Turndown Service with Taiece Lanier

It’s safe to say that everyone has a closet and that each of us has experienced the everyday struggle of being unable to find anything to wear even when our closets are bursting with options. Luckily, Taiece Lanier has a solution for that. Taiece is the savior of your daily closet woes with her organization brand, Closet Editors— where functionality meets beauty.

Having obtained a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing, Taiece began her career honing her eye for organization and design while working with brands like Ralph Lauren and Saks. She also developed her styling skills as a Personal Shopper for exclusive clients, fashion events, and TV shows. A few years later, Taiece used her history, sense of fashion, and passion for entrepreneurship to transform our most visited hidden space— our closets— into somewhere we can find an oasis.

What sets Taiece’s talent ahead of others is that, early on, she realized the unparalleled power of feeling confident in your clothing. Closet Editors is a triple threat, focused on designing your closet space, organizing your space, and curating your style to be the truest, most comfortable version of yourself. Under Taiece’s guided hand, the closet you probably stare into once a day will now house desirable options that will create a pleasurable experience for you along with a seamless morning routine.

Read on for a peek into Taiece’s Turndown routine: where her secret, calming oasis is; the importance of natural sunlight; how she turns down each night via skincare, candles, wine, and maybe some jazz; and more.

What are your favorite (hidden) oases? Favorite places to be - parks, cities, bars, any place you absolutely adore!

My favorite hidden oasis is on any beach. I love being by water, just hearing the waves is so calming and relaxing

What oasis is on your bucket list? Travel wishlist!!

I have so many! My top 2 would have to be Santorini and Italy.

What book are you currently unwinding with?

Currently I’m unwinding with Love In the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It’s a beautiful love story.

What 4-5 songs make up the sound track of your life?

This is a hard one! When I’m working, I have Beyoncé’s new album Renaissance on repeat! Love, Love! My all time favorite sound track is Miseducation by Lauryn Hill. I love all her songs!

Where is your favorite hidden space in your home?

I love sitting at my desk by the window , taking in the natural sunlight. I love the outdoors, so any space near a window makes me happy :)

What is your personal “turndown routine” that helps you transition from day to night?

I normally take a shower, do my nighttime facial routine, light my Diptyque Baies candle, it smells so good! Then I enjoy a glass of wine, listen to jazz and write in my journal. I like to write down all the positive things that happen during my day.

What is something you do just for you?

I like to try something new weekly. Whether it’s a new restaurant, coffee shop, activity, new city, it makes me feel alive!

What’s your favorite maxi dress or jumpsuit and why?

I love so many brands, but my favorite maxi dress in my closet right now is by PATBO. I love the floral print, cut outs  and the way it moves. It's such a beautiful dress and perfect for a fun Sunday brunch!

You have some of the BEST accessories - what are some of your tips on storing them so that they stay looking impeccable - especially in a small space!!

I would designate a jewelry drawer, to keep your items, compartmentalized, organized and tangle-free! You can also try a jewelry organizer stand or pocket organizer. The goal is to have your jewelry visible, separated and easy to find!

Your name is the closet editors - how would you help someone who is super sentimental part with clothing and literally edit their closet that is overflowing?

Throughout the years I have worked with many clients that have items that are very sentimental and are just not ready to part with them. Normally during our closet editing session we would box up those items and place them in another room. Then we continue the editing process, going through each item in the closet and deciding what to donate, toss or keep. By the time we finish on average, we have 5-10 bags of donations! The goal is to have an organized, functional closet full of only items you love and have use for.
